Why go
Shkodra: Rozafa, Marubi & the Lead Mosque
Ancient Scodra — Rozafa fortress, the Marubi archive from 1858, and the Lead Mosque that survived 1967. A full day from Tirana with the driver waiting at every stop.
Shkodra was ancient Scodra, capital of the Illyrian king Gentius until 168 BCE. Rozafa fortress carries the legend of the bride walled into its foundations.
Later it was the intellectual capital of Catholic northern Albania and home of the Marubi photographic dynasty from 1858 — the oldest photo archive in the Balkans. The Lead Mosque (1773) survived the 1967 demolitions.

Questions
Before you reserve
- Do I have to hike?
- No. Every stop on this route is reached by vehicle. If you want to walk, the driver waits — but nothing requires it.
- How do I pay?
- Cash on the day is cheapest. Card online includes a 20% charge for the processor and currency conversion — that is not our margin. A retainer of 25% of the card price (minimum €30) holds the vehicle; the balance is cash on the day.
- How many people can come?
- Up to eight. One vehicle seats four; five to eight guests means both cars go out, and both cars are paid for. That is the only honest way to price a two-car fleet.
- Are entry tickets included?
- No. Rozafa is about €4 and Marubi about €7 per person. We list them honestly so there are no surprises.
